The Pub is Looking Like a Viable Live Music Venue
Remember when you used to walk by the Pub on State Street and these beer-gut tea-totalers would be sitting in a line next to the window holding up score cards as the girsl went by? In the middle of the day? Oh well, it’s gotta be happy hour somewhere in the world.
Well, scratch that because the Pub has been remade and is looking like a fairly decent room to be hosting live music and the owners are saying this is going to happen a lot more frequently.
Could regular live music actually reappear on State Street? What a concept.
Nestled into the corner is a nice, new stage and some P.A. gear. I wasn’t allowed a real close look as the new owners were busy and the place wasn’t even open yet. But stay tuned and I’ll try to get a pic posted by tomorrow and get some more info on the quality and quantity of music happening there. (Hey Bricco, I think they need an agent.)
No pictures, EVER. See the update here.

what…!?!?!?
unreal that someone let alone a biz thats getting the kindness & an offer of a lil promotion acts that way, there isnt anyone that knows you that doesnt know your profesional, honest friendly, helpful, kind, willing to help others etc etc. one wonders just whom you encountered..? an owner or a bartender, regardless their disdain and behaviour was just plain uncalled for,i know you & how you present yourself personally & profesionally what a bunch a clowns,im assuming the previous long time owners of the pub no longer are involved in management..? and if they are or not its just unbecoming that you & your profesional mannerisms and offer were rejcted and treated as such.really is too bad because madison could use great people to run another great establishment downtown for live music.
‘on that note, harbour no ill or negativity inside rick, your still the same person as always and a negative experience wont stop youthe clubs and artists performing in them downtown know who really is in this for the pleasure of seeing it all come together, music & people wise,be it the fans, the clubs that are thriving, the artists, the zines and the people who go out and write or photograph about the gig’s,its a positive experience shared by many.in short, to be profesional and carry themselves in that manner is why some places succeed, and others fail, plain and simple what goes around comes around.
