After years of knocking around with the Lonesome Rogues and the Kentucky Waterfalls, Evan Murdock is ready to release his first recording with his new group, Evan Murdock and the Imperfect Strangers. He’ll celebrate that event with a release party at the High Noon on Tuesday, February 26. This will be an early show, running from 6pm to 8 pm.
The album, which was funded with a successful Indie GoGo crowdfunding project, was recorded in a barn just north of Madison with local musicians and friends, Brian Knapp and Dan Probst. Murdock describes the music as “Midwestern Americana with a touch of sass.”
Murdock’s Imperfect Strangers consist of: Aaron Jossart on accordion and vocals, Count This Penny vocalist Amanda Rigell, Ben Wolf on drums and Pat Logterman on bass. Logterman is a long-time member of the Cork and Bottle String Band.
